I love my job. I love the fact that my work involves so many different things, and that there is always more to learn. After school I studied and practiced law. But life happened and a door opened into the IT world. And that's where I've been ever since. So what is my job? I'm the Director of Operations at Incus Data. That's means I'm responsible for everything involved in running a small business in South Africa. That's challenging, but fun - I like business and law and finance. I've managed various projects over the years, and each project has taught me more about business. The most important part of my work is course development and training. I believe in the importance of good teaching. And I believe that good coding matters. So I've been excited to develop and present our new Coding Ethics course. When I'm not working, I'm either upside-down or reading. I've loved reading since I was about 6 years old, and I read whenever I can. At school I was the academic type, and not very sporty. But, after years of different forms of exercise, I've developed a lasting passion for aerial fitness. So whenever I can, I attend a hoop or pole or silks class. There are some things I can't live without: cats, books, chocolate and tea.

Cyborgs welcome

Social robots can actually provide real value. If robots can help people interact with people, they can help people govern people. I’d like robots to take over Eskom.
